IT'S A BOY

We found out yesterday that we are having a boy, or a man-child as Joseph likes to call him. Joseph and I both guessed it was a boy because my mother, who is notorious for guessing wrong, thought for sure it was a girl. Our son is due to make his appearance still in mid-October. Now we have begun to seriously discuss what to name him. If anyone has a good name suggestion, please let us know. Just to warn you, Joseph wants the boys to have four names--a first name, a middle name, Wells (my maiden name), and then Muhlestein (i.e., John Doe Wells Muhlestein). Hopefully, this won't scar the child too much.

Congratulations! Firstly, didn't you say that you were going to name your first born Trevor? Secondly, I think that a cool name for him would be either Ian or Malcolm. Yes, I first heard those names on Jurassic Park, but they are still good and cool names.

Are there any guidelines for this? Can names be repeated? Only family names? Bible names? Names containing both j and m? Until I know more, I'm suggesting something truly awful like Aadinn Neefie.

Joseph wants a more "unique" name for the middle name. I want a pretty traditional first name.

I'm a big fan of a normal+unique name. Hmm, I vote for Christian Hammer. Christian's a family name, H. Wells reminds one of Daniel H. Wells, who was a cool fella. Plus, it would always be Hammer time!

And no, I did not even realize how bad that looks together until just now. I change my recommendation to Christian Zoltan.

Herbert George Wells Muhlestein.
Call him Herb.

Christian Joseph Wells Muhlestein.

I mean, you could go with Slither or Clive or Basil, but somehow it just wouldn't go with the Wells. Too...snooty as a whole.

Seriously, though, please, please try to find something that the kid won't get beat up over in the fourth grade. (That means no Celtic names, and no bad spelling!)

Samuel or Jacob would work too. And I like Joseph as a middle name. It's classy, simple, and may have something or other to do with my nephew. Not sure about what, though.

Congratsulations!!!!!! Boys are so much fun! I have 2, my husband and my son Christopher. There are so many great biblical names we thought about for Christopher, but his name means Christ Bearer and we loved that. And his middle name Robert means carrier of light. Robert is my husband's name. I like the name Jarom for a first name. You could call him Jarom Joseph Wells Muhlstein and call him J.J. or just call him Joseph Jr. so many boys names to choose from isn't it hard? Love ya guys.
