Here are some quick pics from my research trip to Berkeley. If you want to do EUV optics, this is the place.

Our Texas House!! (Probably)
Well, we are under contract to buy this house in Irving, TX. If all the particulars of the buying process go well, this will be our home during medical school. It is a 5 minute drive from the park-and-ride train station and then a 10 minute train ride to the school. These are the pictures from the listing, but we will try and get some of the ones that we took put on as well.

And the winner is... DALLAS!!
We have pondered and prayed about this one and we feel good about our decision. We are going to move to Dallas Texas and I will go to UT Southwestern Medical School. I am very excited and slightly surprised since I almost didn't even apply to UT Southwestern. But in the end, the affordability, the advantageous real estate market, the warm weather, and the amazing green lined sky scraper won us over. Now I just have to graduate from BYU...

We are enjoying Texas and are currently enjoying the Alamo. If you've never been, you should. We'll post more from the trip later.

Moon Shot
Walking home from class I saw the moon acting as a backdrop for a pine tree and decided it was cool so I am now sharing it with ya'll.

Coming in at 2nd and 3rd...

2nd Place
Coming in on Nov. 14, 2008, 4:01 PM, UT Southwestern takes second place in the race to accept Joseph into medical school. Located in Dallas TX, UTSW is the second to accept Joseph but was only the fourth in TX to interview him. It is noted for having the name "Southwestern" and being the most Northeastern medical school in the state.

3rd Place
Coming in a minute behind second place at 4:02 PM, UTMB - Galveston (University of Texas Medical Branch) was the first to interview Joseph and had a strong performance in accepting him just behind UTSW. Though Hurrican Ike ravaged its island home, this school has the distinction of being the oldest medical school in Texas and the only one to presently be more sick than its patients. Never fear, rebuilding is under way and it has now positioned itself for a shot at taking first place in the matriculation race.

Scarier Yet?
This represents the remains of the witch and the spider. Personally, I think both have increased in their ghoulish appeal.

Passed!!
Once again Joseph dominated all others and passed his motorcycle driving test. An even greater achievement is that he was able to get his last name spelled right on his drivers license. No more Muhlstein, though they let him keep his old license. Beware drivers, Joseph is on the road. Please do not run over my husband.
